7 Days Mount Kenya Climbing Sirimon–Naro Moru Route...
The 7 Days Climbing Mount Kenya Timau Trek Route is a unique and less-crowded expedition across the northern and eastern slopes of Mount Kenya, offering a scenic wilderness experience through savannah landscapes, moorlands, and alpine terrain.
The Timau Route lies in a natural rain shadow, making it drier and more comfortable for trekking compared to other routes. The trail provides panoramic views of the mountain’s peaks aligned east to west, giving hikers the impression of traversing an entire mountain range.
Unlike the busier southern routes, the Timau approach offers a rare opportunity to encounter wildlife such as zebras, elands, and gazelles on the lower slopes, making it a truly authentic African mountain adventure.
This route combines wilderness trekking, high-altitude climbing, and cultural mountain exploration, culminating in the summit of Point Lenana (4,985m) before descending through the scenic Chogoria side.
