Itinerary

Day 1 – Mombasa to Tsavo East

Zuri Trails will pick you up at your resort/hotel for a scenic drive to the park. After a fast 2 ½ hour trip you’ll arrive at the gate of Tsavo East to begin your safari adventure! This  adventure offers a captivating journey into the rugged landscapes and thriving wildlife of Tsavo East National Park. Here, you’ll have the chance to encounter Africa’s iconic “Big Five” – lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhino. Keep an eye out for the renowned Tsavo lions, famous across the continent for their unique characteristics. During your immersive game drives, you may also spot cheetahs, African wildcats, giraffes, impalas, jackals, zebras, monkeys, and a dazzling array of bird species. This experience promises an unforgettable connection with the untamed beauty of Tsavo’s wilderness.

Day 2 -Tsavo West to Amboseli National Park

After breakfast, have game drive enroute to Amboseli National Park that offers some of the best opportunities to see African wildlife because the vegetation is sparse due to the long, dry months. The protected area is home to African bush elephant, Cape buffalo, impala, lion, cheetah, spotted hyena, Masai giraffe, Grant's zebra, and blue wildebeest. A host of large and small birds occur too. In the evening, return to your camp/lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Amboseli National Park – Lake Nakuru National Park

As you enter Lake Nakuru National Park, you’ll be greeted by a remarkable diversity of habitats – from euphorbia forests and acacia woodlands to savannah grasslands and rocky escarpments. Here, you’ll encounter black and white rhinos, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hippos. The park’s most iconic feature is its shimmering shallow, alkaline lake, which was once blanketed by vast flocks of flamingos, creating a stunning spectacle of pink plumes. Although flamingo numbers fluctuate, the park remains a birdwatcher's paradise, with over 400 species of birds, including pelicans, plovers, and marabou storks.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru National Park – Lake Naivasha

You will have an early breakfast then check-out with game drive at the park. Lake Nakuru is a small park with magnificent, rare white rhinos which form part of the Big five animals. There is also a possibility to see the pink flamingos. Thereafter, leave for Lake Naivasha to arrive in good time for Lake Naivasha and have lunch. In the afternoon, have optional boat-ride at the lake viewing bird watching and hippo viewing at an extra cost of $2 per person. Dinner and overnight at the camp/lodge.

Day 5: Lake Naivasha – Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, leave for Masai Mara National Reserve to arrive in good time for lunch and rest. Embark for game drive in the afternoon; This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest's migration and is home of the Big Five: Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino. Lunch at the Lodge and relax before departing for the afternoon game drive.

Day 6: Masai Mara National Reserve

Full day spend in the park with packed lunch in search of its popular residents like the well-known predators and their opponents like the Zebra, Wildebeest, Giraffe, Hippo and the dangerous Crocodiles with a visit to Mara River. There is also an optional possibility to take a hot air balloon ride with an extra cost of $450 per person. "Take to the skies for the ultimate Masai Mara wildlife adventure, soaring in a hot air balloon over herds of game to the inner reaches of the Mara. You'll ascend in the early morning, when winds are calmest. You may optionally visit Masai village with an extra cost of $20 per person to experience traditional way of life of Masai people and also take a walk and dance with them.

Day 7: Masai Mara National Reserve - Nairobi

Do an early morning game drive, return to your camp/lodge for breakfast. Thereafter, leave for Nairobi to arrive in good time for drop off Airport/Hotel.
